Help Changes
In the following paragraphs I will try to explain the recent changes of imvucodes to the state before the 2012 release.
imvucodes has ever been the number one source for code snippets since 2007. Since then I invested a lot of time to tweak, modify, re-do and improve the website and its content. The fifth year now is passing by while imvucodes is way more like a smaller hobby now than before.
Its 2012 - the end is near?! - and it is time for another change. What you see here is the a lightweight, completely redone imvucodes with new features and also with less features than before. The main aspect of this page is still to serve you the best codes. While I cannot maintain this page as much as I would like (because of a full-time job) it now has feature to do this on its own - and by your participation.

- Trustlevel
- One main new feature is the trustlevel implementation. This is helpful for users to determine whether a code snippet and its contributor is trustful or not. This is done by collecting ratings from visitors of imvucodes. An easy definition would be: The more trustlevel points you gain, the higher your level of trust will be. Trustlevels can reach from level 1 to 3+. Each level has at least three sub-steps of progress until you can level up. A matching rank will be displayed next to your snippet entry. - Advertising
- Since a while now imvucodes offered free and paid adspots for any user of imvucodes and for imvu related content. This was quite a cheap way to address people that are familiar with imvu, its shopping catalog and community. Now the new imvucodes is offering just one single solution which will be free to use. Any user of imvucodes can submit up to 10 banners of choice with unique link targets. These banners will be displayed on the code snippet pages in a random order unless the original contributor of the code snippet has denied this in the snippet content settings. This setting allows to only include own banners when preferring this.
- imvucodes is using the Facebook comment system since a while now while user accounts still were completely connected to imvu accounts. This has changed now: imvucodes steps back from imvu OpenID and the own realized implementation of imvucodes connect. Only Facebook login will be supported from now on. No data will be harvested besides: your name, your Facebook id and your profile picture url. These data will only be used to define you as a proper contributor for any content submissions. You will never receive any email or message from imvucodes.
